Calming Massage Oil

This massage oil is ideal for after a long day of work or a strenuous workout. Fractionated coconut oil provides the ideal base, as it will not alter the scent, properties or potencies of the essential oils featured in this blend.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Fractionated Coconut Oil
  • 3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Pine Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 3 drops of Roman Chamomile Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the ingredients, stirring gently to combine
  2. Transfer the massage oil to a glass bottle, preferably one that has a dark tint. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight
Relaxing Diffuser Blend

Instantly create a serene atmosphere with this relaxing diffuser blend. Perfect for bedrooms or nurseries, this essential oil blend calms the nerves and promotes restful sleep.

Ingredients:

  • 20 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Rosewood Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Roman Chamomile Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a glass bottle with a lid. Roll it gently between your hands to combine the oils, being sure not to shake it.
  2. Transfer the oil blend to a diffuser
Energizing Diffuser Blend

By adding just two essential oils to your aromatherapy essential oil diffuser, you can lift the overall mood of a room. Perfect for offices, work areas or any living space, this simple blend will increase your overall sense of wellbeing and energy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp of Wild Orange Essential Oil
  • 1 tbsp of Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Pour the essential oils into a small lidded glass bottle, and gently roll the bottle between your hands to mix the ingredients
  2. Store the mixture in a cool place away from direct sunlight
  3. To use: Place 8 drops of the essential oil blend into your diffuser
Eczema Relief Cream

Featuring just three simple ingredients, this eczema relief cream is safe, gentle and suitable for eczema sufferers of all ages. It creates a long lasting barrier that soothes and moisturizes dry, cracked skin while preventing further damage.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 20 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Using either the double broiler method, or a microwave set at 50% power, melt the coconut oil. If using a double broiler, stir the mixture constantly over low heat. If using the microwave, microwave it for 20 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval, until the oil has melted completely.
  2. Remove the coconut oil from heat and allow it to cool slightly. Stir in the essential oils.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a glass jar with a lid and store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
  4. Use the eczema cream as needed to treat the skin and prevent future problems.
Shower Steamer Disks

If you’re fighting congestion, a shower steamer disks provide an effective way to quickly clear your sinuses. This homemade recipe uses simple ingredients and is quick and easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Baking Soda
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup of Water
  • 6-10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 6-10 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Prepare a muffin tin by placing liners in the reservoirs
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the baking soda and cornstarch
  3. Slowly add the water until the mixture forms a thick but pourable consistency
  4. Distribute the mixture among the reservoirs of the muffin tin
  5. Bake the mixture in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes
  6. After the disks have cooked, remove them from the oven and cool for 10 minutes
  7. Place two drops of each essential oil on top of each disk
  8. Allow the disks to cool completely at room temperature
  9. Once the disks have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container away from moisture and direct sunlight
Antiseptic Oil Treatment

Essential oils provide the perfect treatment for minor scrapes and burns. They offer soothing relief from pain while providing antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Keep this simple oil treatment on hand to promote healing for minor injuries.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz of Water, filtered
  • 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil
  • 10 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small spray bottle
  2. Shake well to combine
  3. Before each use, shake for 30 seconds before spraying
Firming Eye Cream

Lack of sleep, aging, water retention and a myriad of other factors can contribute to puffy eyes, and lifestyle or diet changes are not always enough to banish the bags. This firming eye cream tightens and firms under eye skin, reduces the appearance of dark circles and reverses the signs of aging. While store bought formulas contain a high concentration of preservatives, parabens and other artificial ingredients, this cream offers a gentle blend of safe, all-natural ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 qts of Water, distilled
  • 1/4 cup of Green Tea, brewed and cooled
  • 1 tbsp of Rosehip Essential Oil
  • 1 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil
  • 1 tsp Emulsifying Wax
  • 1 drop of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 1 drop of Carrot Seed Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Divide the water between two medium sized double broilers or saucepans. If using saucepans, place a glass bowl with a spout into each of the saucepans. Heat the water over medium heat.
  2. In one pot, place the wax, rosehip essential oil, sweet almond oil and Vitamin E oil. Pour the green tea into the other pot.
  3. Heat both pots until the wax melts.
  4. Check the temperature of both pots with a thermometer. In order for the ingredients to combine correctly, they must be exactly the same temperature.
  5. When both the oil mixture and the green tea have reached 130 degrees, pour the green tea into the oil mixture.
  6. Using an immersion blender, mix the ingredients until it reaches a creamy consistency
  7. Continue to mix every ten minutes for the next hour, or until water no longer separates from the mixture
  8. Once the mixture is no longer separating add the essential oils and use an immersion blender to ensure that they are well incorporated.
  9. Pour the eye cream into a lidded glass container and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Thieves’ Oil

Thieves’ oil dates back to the 15th century, where it was said that some thieves were able to rob victims of the Plague without becoming sick. According to legend, these thieves were spice traders or perfume makers who would cover themselves with a blend of essential oils, thus warding off disease. This DIY thieves’ oil contains essential oils known for their antibacterial properties, and can easily be added to soaps, lotions, ointments or homemade cleaning products.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 2 tsp Rosemary Essential Oil
  • 3 tsp Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 4 tsp Lemon Essential Oil
  • 4 tsp Clove Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. In a small glass bowl, combine all of the ingredients
  2. Store the mixture in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks before using
Vapor Rub

Effective for both young babies and adults, this essential oil-based vapor rub clears nasal passages while helping to rid the body of toxins.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 10 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 5 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Using a double broiler, melt the coconut oil over low heat
  2. Once the oil has melted, remove it from heat and allow it to cool slightly
  3. Add the essential oils to the coconut oil and stir gently to combine
  4. Transfer the mixture to a lidded glass container and allow it to set uncovered at room temperature
  5. Store in a cool place away from direct sunlight
Allergy Relieving Oil

Immediately soothe allergy symptoms with this potent essential oil blend. Whether it is applied topically or taken orally, it is powerful enough to stop allergies in their tracks.

Ingredients:

  • 15 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 15 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of Copaiba Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, stir together all of the ingredients
  2. Transfer the mixture to a lidded container or roller bottle, and store away from direct sunlight
  3. To use: For topical application, apply the oil blend to the affect area. To take the oil orally, either: 1) mix 3 drops with a spoonful of honey and swallow, or 2) put 3 drops in an empty vegetable capsule and swallow.
Headache Eraser

Over-the-counter headache medications can mask the pain of a headache without treating its cause, and taking some pain relievers on a regular basis can actually result in rebound headaches. This simple salve can be made ahead of time and kept on hand, ready to relieve the tension and pain of headaches whenever they strike.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Coconut Oil
  • 10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 7 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Using the double broiler method, melt the coconut oil
  2. Allow the coconut oil to cool slightly at room temperature, and then stir in the essential oils until they are fully incorporated
  3. Transfer the salve to a lidded container, close the container and allow the salve to harden at room temperature
  4. To use: Apply a small amount of the salve to your temples, the back of your neck or your sinus areas as needed
Sore Muscle Soak

This spa-inspired treatment uses a variety of crushed herbs, essential oils and other healing ingredients to soothe sore muscles, reduce inflammation and improve blood circulation. Use as often as needed to enjoy relief from tired, aching muscles and joints.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of Epsom Salt
  • ¼ cup Sea Salt
  • ¾ cup of Baking Soda
  • 2 tbsp chamomile flowers
  • 1 tbsp juniper berries
  • 2 tbsp pine needles
  • 1 tbsp sage leaves
  • 5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Dry the chamomile flowers, juniper berries, pine needles and sage leaves by spreading them out on a dish towel and allowing them to set for 72 hours
  2. In a food processor, combine the Epsom salt, sea salt, baking soda, chamomile flowers, juniper berries, pine needles and sage leaves
  3. Transfer the mixture to the center of a square of cheesecloth or muslin. Alternately, the mixture can be poured into a sock or nylon stocking
  4. Add the essential oils to the mixture
  5. Use a ribbon or string to tie the mixture into a bag
  6. To use, hang the bag over your bathtub faucet, letting the water filter through it as it fills the tub
Cold Sore Ointment

Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are both cosmetically unappealing and painful. These small, fluid-filled lesions appear on or around the lips. Once the blisters break, they form a crust over a sore that can last for weeks. Fortunately, essential oils provide a simple treatment that allows you to prevent cold sores, shorten the duration of an outbreak and find relief from some of the pain and discomfort. This recipe can be customized to suit the nature of the cold sore. To provide a broken sore with the moisture it needs for healing, use sweet almond oil. To dry out a wet cold sore, add isopropyl alcohol.

Ingredients:

  • 3 drops Lemon Balm
  • 2 drops Tea Tree Oil
  • 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 6 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Chamomile Essential Oil
  • 1 oz Sweet Almond Oil or 2 oz Isopropyl Alcohol*

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the lemon balm, tea tree oil, lavender essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil and chamomile essential oil
  2. *If the blisters have broken and resulted in a crusted sore, add sweet almond oil to the mixture. If the blisters have not yet broken, add the isopropyl alcohol to the mixture.
  3. To use the cold sore ointment, use a cotton swab to gently apply the mixture to the site of the sore, or at the first signs that a cold sore is forming.
Cuticle Balm

Cracked cuticles are painful and cosmetically unappealing, and can be very difficult to heal. By massaging this cuticle balm into your cuticles twice daily, you can soothe and hydrate your cuticles and encourage the healthy growth of strong nails.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 2 tbsp Sweet Almond Oil
  • 1 tbsp Shea Butter
  • 1 ½ tsp Beeswax Pellets
  • 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Using the double broiler method, melt together the coconut oil, sweet almond oil, shea butter and beeswax, stirring constantly until the mixture has completely melted
  2. Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly
  3. Stir in the essential oils, blending well
  4. Pour the mixture into a small, lidded pot or tin and allow it to cool completely at room temperature
Hand Sanitizer

Unlike its store-bought counterpart, which generally contains a high concentration of alcohol and synthetic fragrances, this refreshing hand sanitizer will not strips your skin of its natural moisture.   • 1/8 cup Water
  • 1/8 cup Vodka
  • 1 tsp Aloe Vera Gel
  • ½ tsp Vegetable Glycerin
  • 8 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
  • 12 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

Directions

  1. In a spray bottle, combine the water and vodka
  2. Add the aloe vera gel, vegetable glycerin and essential oils, shaking well to combine
  3. Hand sanitizer can be store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
