Directions:

  2. In a double broiler, melt together the coconut oil, almond oil and beeswax pellets
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ingredients, working quickly to prevent hardening
  4. Using a small funnel, immediately pour the lip balm mixture into the prepared tubes and refrigerate until hardened

  2. Place the mixture in the refrigerator and allow it to cool completely
  3. After the lotion has cooled, use an electric beater to whip it until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency. Slowly add the lavender essential oil and continue to whip the lotion until the oil has fully incorporated.
  4. This lotion can be stored in an airtight container, away from direct sunlight, for up to one year.
Eucalyptus and Peppermint Soap

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • ¼ cup Soy Bean Oil
  • ½ cup Coconut Oil
  • 1/3 cup Shea Butter
  • 1/3 cup Lard
  • 4 tsp Castor Oil
  • 1 tbsp Dark French Green Clay
  • 15 g Lye*
  • 15 g Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 15 g Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. In a double broiler, combine the coconut oil, shea butter and lard, stirring gently until the oils are completely melted and combined
  2. Remove the mixture from heat and add the olive oil, castor oil and soy bean oil
  3. In a separate bowl, add the lye to the water. (Caution: the outside of the bowl will become extremely hot) Stir well and let cool.
  4. Once the lye water has reached room temperature, add it to the oils and blend with an immersion blender until it begins to set
  5. In trace amounts, add the essential oils and clay to the soap blend. Use an immersion blender to ensure no clumps or inconsistencies remain.
  6. Pour the mixture into soap molds
  7. Cover the soap molds with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight
  8. Once soaps are completely set, remove them from their molds. Allow them to cure for 4 weeks before use.

*Any equipment that the lye comes into contact with needs to be neutralized with a mixture of vinegar, soap and water.

Regenerating Sugar Scrub

  1. Microwave the coconut oil at 50% power for 30 second intervals, until the coconut oil just begins to soften
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the coconut oil and one cup of sugar, beating with an electric mixer until smooth
  3. Add the Vitamin E oil and essential oil, stirring until the ingredients are well mixed
  4. Add the remaining sugar until the scrub reaches the desired consistency
  5. Store the sugar scrub in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for up to 6 months
Liquid Hand Soap

Ingredients:

  • 1 bar of Bar Soap, unscented
  • 7 cups of Water, filtered
  • ½ tsp Peppermint Essential Oil
  • ½ tsp Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. Using a cheese grater or food processor, grate the bar of soap
  2. Using a large pot, bring the water to a boil
  3. Reduce the heat and add the grated soap to the water, stirring until it has melted completely
  4. Once the soap has completely melted, remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool completely at room temperature for 8-10 hours. Stir occasionally.
  5. Add the essential oils to the cooled soap, adjusting the amounts as needed until the desired scent is reached
  6. Transfer the soap to lidded containers and store away from direct sunlight
Lavender Detox Bath Salt

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1 cup Baking Soda

  5. Allow the mixture to harden, uncapped and at room temperature, for 24 hours before use

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 oz of Rosehip Essential Oil
  • 1/2 oz of Jojoba Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil
  • 13 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 3 drops of Carrot Seed Essential Oil

Directions:

  1. In a small dropper bottle, combine the lavender essential oil and carrot seed essential oil
  2. Add the rosehip essential oil and Vitamin E oil to the bottle
  3. Add the jojoba oil to the bottle
  4. Screw the cap on to the bottle tightly and gently roll the bottle between your hands, being careful to not shake the mixture
  5. To use, use a cotton ball to apply the serum to freshly cleansed skin. Allow it to dry completely before applying a moisturizer.

  • 1/3 cup Coconut Oil
  • ½ cup Raw Shea Butter

  • 1 tsp Baking Soda

Directions:

  1. Using the double broiler method, melt the coconut oil, raw shea butter and jojoba oil over a low heat, stirring constantly
  2. Allow the mixture to cook just above its melting point for 15 minutes
  3. Remove the oil mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly at room temperature
  4. Add the essential oils and baking soda to the mixture, using a whisk to ensure that it is completely mixed
  5. Refrigerate the shaving cream mixture for one hour, or until it hardens
  6. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes
  7. Using a hand mixer, beat the mixture until it reaches a light and fluffy consistency
  8. Refrigerate the mixture for 1 hour
  9. Remove from the refrigerator and beat the mixture again until it resembles whipped cream
  10. Transfer the shaving cream mixture to a lidded container, and store in dry place away from direct sunlight

  4. Using a strainer, drain the water from the oats. Save the water in a bowl and discard the oats
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the castile soap and the oils
  6. Combine the oil mixture with the water, stirring well to combine
  7. Transfer the body wash to two lidded bottles
Lavender Shampoo

Unlike traditional shampoos, which may strip the hair of the natural oils it needs for optimal health, this homemade shampoo will leave your hair smooth, shiny and more manageable. Directions:

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the coconut oil in the microwave at 50% power using 15 second intervals
  2. Once the coconut oil has liquefied, use a mixer or immersion blender to mix in the castile soap, water and lavender essential oil
  3. Transfer the shampoo mixture to a lidded bottle
  4. To use: After thoroughly wetting hair, squirt a quarter-sized amount of shampoo into your hands and rub together to create a lather. Beginning at the roots, use a circular motion to gently massage the shampoo into your hair. Rinse your hair with cool water.
